Not so black and white We yell at them, spewing insults and buttered popcorn in their direction. We grumble when they make a mistake and most often ignore their contributions on a good night. We offer them little reason to keep working.

That was all that separated the SPU women’s track and field team from a first-place finish at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships on Saturday.

Women rally to win at WIRA In their final heat on Sunday, with headwinds adding resistance, the SPU women’s varsity eight crew team started off close to last place. It seemed that outside forces were working against them. Head coach Keith Jefferson looked on nervously.
