Freshman Jessica Pixler runs away with the 1,500-meter national championship. The title was her second of the year; she won the national championship in the indoor mile earlier this year at indoor nationals in Boston, Mass.

Two track titles

Going into last weekend’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Track and Field Championships in North Carolina, the Falcons had not had a female national champion in 14 years.

Rowers gain respect

The SPU crew program gained national respect last weekend.

The Falcons’ women’s varsity eight-boat beat out Florida Tech (FIT) to take the victory in the petite final of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Championships on Sunday.
