Canned food trick or treat

All SPU students are welcome to join the Falconettes and Centurions in collecting canned foods tonight. Students should meet in Weter Hall at 6p.m. and are welcome to wear costumes. This event will count as CFE community service credit. All food collected will go to Seattle-area food banks that are suffering from shortages due to an increased need for supplies in New York as a result of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Nutcracker ballet

Tickets for the Dec. 1 and 5 productions of the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s "Nutcracker" go on sale tomorrow for $10 in the ASSP Office. Students may purchase a maximum of two tickets with a student ID.

J.R.R. Tolkein conference

A conference called "Celebrating Middle Earth" about J.R.R. Tolkien’s book "The Lord of the Rings" will be taking place at SPU on Nov. 9 &10. The conference is being hosted by the C.S. Lewis Institute, and there is no cost for SPU students, faculty and staff. Full admission for non-SPU affiliates is $80, which includes the opening banquet and lunch on Sat., Nov. 10.
